Kremlin Montana Lutheran Church
50th Anniversary, 1961

The Kremlin Montana Lutheran Church 50th Anniversary celebration in 1961 was the commemoration of the congregation's beginning in 1911. Many people in the Kremlin area were of Scandinavian descent and on July 2, 1911, a small group met in the little yellow two-room school house with the firm purpose of establishing a Lutheran congregation.

This Kremlin Montana Lutheran Church 50th Anniversary Book was shared for publishing on the website from the collection of Leona Jenson Larson,
who was in the Confirmation Class of July 27, 1930.

The first marriage that a pastor of this congregation performed was by O.T. Brandrud at the parsonage in Havre, uniting Kristoffer Johan Haugen and Kjersti Erikson Evje, on November 6, 1915. The first recorded baptism was of Arthur M. Berg on August 12, 1917, by Pastor Brandrud. However, Helen "Dimpy" Peterson is believed to have been the first baby baptized from this congregation.
